The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the application process for Class 10 and Class 12 private candidates for the 2027 board examinations.
According to the latest CBSE notices, eligible candidates can submit their examination forms online from October 8, 2026. The Board has issued separate notices for Class 10 and Class 12 private candidates.
The applications are being accepted through the CBSE Private Candidate portal. Candidates should carefully check their eligibility, category, subjects and examination city before submitting the form.

Who Can Apply For CBSE Class 10 Private Exam 2027?
The Class 10 private candidate form is not open for every student. Candidates have to meet the eligibility conditions prescribed by CBSE.

- Students declared Essential Repeat in the 2026 examination.
- Students placed in Compartment in the CBSE Main or Supplementary Examination 2026.
- Candidates declared Fail/Essential Repeat in the applicable previous examination years, including 2021 to 2026.

Who Can Apply For CBSE Class 12 Private Exam 2027?
For Class 12, CBSE has listed several categories of eligible private candidates.

- Candidates declared Essential Repeat in the 2026 Class 12 examination.

- Candidates declared Fail/Essential Repeat in the applicable years from 2021 to 2026.

CBSE Private Candidate Form 2027 Fees
The fee structure depends on the class, country and subjects selected.
For candidates in India, CBSE has prescribed a fee of ₹320 per additional subject for Class 10 and Class 12 private candidates. The same normal fee structure is shown in the official notices for both classes.
For Class 12, an additional practical fee may apply for practical subjects. CBSE has prescribed ₹160 per practical subject per candidate for schools in India.
Late Fee
Candidates who miss the normal deadline can submit the form from October 24 to October 30, 2026, with a late fee of ₹2,000 per candidate in addition to the applicable normal fee.
Candidates should remember that the fee must be paid online through the payment methods prescribed by CBSE. Offline fee payment is not accepted for this process.

Go to the official CBSE website and open the Private Candidate section.
Step 2: Open The 2027 Application Link
Select the option for Online Application for Private Candidate for Examination Main, 2027. The official CBSE private candidate page currently provides the application link.
Step 3: Select Your Category
